A location in the US that meets other needs such as possible work
contacts and networking

A university that offers good internships or good job placement
opportunities, as well as a history of good placements

Other graduate or undergraduate majors, outside of the chosen with
interesting courses

A well known university especially known for the specific
department of study

Housing that is appropriate--apartment style or dorm

Excellent professors, known in the field

Good mixture
of people, regionally diverse, racially diverse, international

Costs that are within the budget
