| Model United Nation -
Colegio Bolivar
The Model United Nations is the main extra
curricular activity organized by the Social Studies Department in High School. A
general convocation to participate in it is made to students during their
freshman year.
Students who are interested enroll and begin a special
preparation that requires them to spend a significant amount of time after
regular school hours in preparation for this activity. The program is designed
in such a way that a student can initially attend one of the Models in Cali and
then s/he can go to Models that take place in other cities. In prior years
students at Colegio Bolivar have participated in the Models of Cali, Bogotá, Cartagena, Quito, Boston, and New York City.
Students will have the opportunity to live an
experience similar to that lived in a real United Nations assembly. Those
participating in this activity must have acquaintance to things like: how the
organization works, what are its tasks, what benefits has it brought to humanity,
and that lead them to finding solutions to different problems in the present day world following the guidelines of reality.
