Welcome to our High School website – our virtual presence.

My life changed in August of 1999.  At that time, I departed from my
family and friends in
Boston, Massachusetts and arrived to Cali, Colombia with limited experience as a teacher and even lessknowledge of the Latin American culture.  My fortunes improved drastically in 2003 when I received a position as the grade eight Social Studies teacher at Colegio Bolivar.  From the moment that I began working in the Middle School, my professional development has dramatically increased.  While working with an incredibly dedicated group of teachers, I was allowed to grow and develop as a strong teacher and eventually, as a positive leader.  After receiving a Masters degree in Education from Western Carolina University that was made possible by Colegio Bolivar, I am honored to be appointed as the High School Principal.

The High School at Colegio Bolivar is a unique environment that allows for the positive social and academic development of our students.  Teachers work diligently to provide multiple styles of instruction and assessment, and they are encouraged to experiment with various educational strategies. As the newly-appointed principal of this section, I have the privilege of working with the teachers and counselors to assist in our process of developing the academic and social skills of our students.  I am constantly inspired by the efforts of the High School teachers as they work above and beyond to make the Bolivar community exceptionally positive and unique.

The Colegio Bolivar community has provided an abundance of support and confidence in my growth as a professional in education.  I now take on the challenge of working to provide balanced attention to the details necessary in maintaining my responsibilities.   As the new High School principal of Colegio Bolivar, I intend to work with my total dedication to establish a solid foundation for the education and development of our students while upholding the strong tradition of leadership in our community.
