Que es el Bodegón?

Tipo de representación pictórica, considerada menor hasta el Renacimiento, que solía aparecer encubierto en géneros como retratos, pintura religiosa, etc.
Caravaggio (1573-1610) será uno de los primeros artistas en representar naturalezas muertas con conciencia de obra pictórica. A partir de entonces son muchos los pintores que se especializan en el género de bodegón de flores, alcanzando en el siglo XVIII en países como Holanda o Flandes un gran esplendor y difusión comercial. Posteriormente el bodegón de flores ha sido tema principal en la obra de muchos pintores del siglo XIX y XX sobre el cual, en numerosas ocasiones, se elaboraron las propuestas actuales de la pintura.
