EL PREFACIO
====================
Ha sido un gran año y todo el equipo de la biblioteca Martin Felton le
quiere agradecer a la comunidad entera por su apoyo. El próximo año
tendremos algunos cambios que me gustaría comentarles. Martha Díez, quien
tomó un año sabático después de enseñar español por muchos años en Primaria,
va a estar trabajando con Carolyn Field en la biblioteca de primaria. Ellas
van a compartir la carga de las clases entre Primaria y Pre-primaria,
poniendo sus talentos al servicio de sus estudiantes y trabajando en español
e inglés respectivamente. Elizabeth Aguado estará ayudándonos en secundaria,
trabajando en el área de circulación, aplicando todos los conocimientos
adquiridos recientemente en la carrera de bibliotecología que está
adelantando. Estamos muy entusiasmados con todos los cambios para el próximo
año.
El verano es un tiempo maravilloso para el descanso y el esparcimiento, pero
no se olviden de la lectura de sus hijos. Después de trabajar en el Colegio
Bolívar por más de 18 años, es frustrante ver a los estudiantes volver
después de seis o siete semanas fuera del colegio, con un nivel de inglés
notoriamente más bajo que con el que salieron. Es importante que nosotros,
como padres y como educadores, y sobre todo como modelos, continuemos
leyendo con nuestros hijos durante las vacaciones y que continuemos
animándolos a leer. Como el año pasado, el Departamento de Inglés en
secundaria está asignando a todos sus estudiantes lecturas para el verano y
algo de escritura. Éstas las podrán consultar a través de la página
electrónica de la biblioteca www.colegiobolivar.edu.co/library/suggested_reading_lists.htm.
Allí también encontrarán algunos enlaces a listas de libros e ideas que
podrían encontrar útiles para esta temporada. Pídale a su hij@ leer un
poquito en estas vacaciones, aunque sea la revista del avión. ¡Es
importante!
La biblioteca estará abierta durante el verano de 7:00 a.m. a 4:00 p.m.,
excepto del 10 al 23 de julio. Por favor pasen por acá y pidan prestados los
libros para ustedes y para sus familias.
El equipo de la biblioteca quiere desearles a todos unas felices vacaciones
de verano. Nos veremos de nuevo en agosto.
**DE SECUNDARIA**
La biblioteca de secundaria culmina el año lectivo con un buen balance,
después de haber actualizado y organizado el material bibliográfico. El
trabajo de este semestre se centró en la depuración de la colección,
descartando los libros que estuvieran en malas condiciones u obsoletos y
adquiriendo un nuevo material, por solicitud de nuestros usuarios. En este
proceso hemos querido conservar la riqueza y variedad de nuestra colección
bilingüe, muy característica de nuestra biblioteca.
**DE PRIMARIA & PRE-PRIMARIA**
Un cordial saludo desde la biblioteca de Primaria. Un año más que se acaba y
otro grupo de jóvenes que pasa a secundaria. Espero que ellos en particular,
sigan vinculados a la biblioteca, aunque pasen a grados más altos. Así
mismo, aspiro a que no pierdan el amor por la lectura y que sepan, que tanto
arriba como abajo, siempre serán bienvenidos. Por correo electrónico les
envié una guía de títulos de libros a los alumnos de primaria que deberían
contemplar leer durante las vacaciones del verano.
Espero aprovechen para leer en ambos idiomas. ¡Recuerden cuán importante es!
Les deseamos unas felices vacaciones y nos vemos en agosto.
