Colegio Bolívar Poetry Festival

Dear colleagues:

          I hope you all have had a good start to 2009. In the past two years we have made significant changes to the Poetry Festival, offering a more developmentally appropriate event for our young children. With all the feedback we received, we hope to have another fun integration with our schools during the daytime, keeping the event only for students and teachers.

ü The date for the 35th Poetry Festival will be Friday, February 13, 2009.  The event will take place at the Colegio Bolivar from 9:00-11:30 a.m.

Only students who are finalists from their schools should come accompanied by a teacher from their school. (Parents would be informed, sign a field trip permission to come to our school)

Based on the feedback, we will have the poetry sharing will be organized by schools, mingled with our first graders, so there can be integration and friendship built among the students. We will offer a snack and have energizer activities to celebrate the visit in each classroom.

ü We kindly ask you to limit the participation to students who are 6-7 years of age, in Preparatorio or the equivalent of First grade, not younger.

All entries should be submitted through the web page, by Monday February 9th, so we can have the programs printed without any mistakes. We will be using the same categories that are listed on the webpage http://www.colegiobolivar.edu.co/poetry

ü Every child would receive a certificate of participation in the category.
