Welcome to our
web page!
The Early childhood
program at Colegio Bolivar provides a variety of
learning opportunities and experiences for children form the
ages of four to seven years. The first two years, Kinder 4 and
Kinder 5, have a developmentally appropriate curriculum
established, using integrated themes and projects. The First
grade is a transition to a more formal academic education with
the continuing emphasis of early childhood principles. In
meeting the goals of our mission, the Preprimary program
provides a bilingual education in Spanish and English. Spanish
is respected as the child's first language, and the development
of good literacy skills in Spanish is considered important to
the student's successful acquisition of the second language.
Teaching and learning practices encouraging the growth of
autonomy, respect and the development of appropriate social
skills, are utilized in the classroom. Projects are designed to
stimulate all developmental areas, taking into account
individual differences in abilities and learning styles.
Students interact in whole group or small group situations both
in teacher-directed and independent activities.
Our stable and
caring staff members are committed to creating a happy and safe
school environment in which each student's intellectual,
emotional, social, physical and creative potentials are
respected and where children feel welcome and appreciated.
Keep an eye on
the photo archives and web pages for this year as they develop!
These web pages are our way to share what our students are doing
in the classroom with the various projects and special events
that are programmed in our section.
We
look forward to working with all our students and families this
year. As always, our doors are open to you and we are open to
your ideas, comments and suggestions to improve our educational
program and provide your child with the best opportunities
possible. You may contact us at 5552039 ext. 215.
