Architects of the Future - Library Exposition
Before Christmas the Grade 7 students were challenged to be “Architects of the Future”. Throughout the unit the students learned about how the body worked: It’s muscles, bones and nerves. They learned about bone design and were given several engineering problems to solve. Finally they were presented with the idea that we can actually redesign our bodies to be greater expression of ourselves and to understand that a prosthetic limb, instead of being an empty space to fill, can actually be seen as an opportunity to create whatever that person wants to create in that space. The students were finally asked to join form, function and esthetic in designing and creating a prosthetic limb. I am very proud to share with the Bolivar community the Grade 7 final products. The students demonstrated an incredible amount of dedication and creativity throughout the design process, often starting again as they refined their final products. Congratulations to all of our future engineers and artisits!
