The Early childhood program at Colegio Bolivar provides a variety of learning opportunities and experiences for children from the ages of four to seven years.
The first three years Kinder 4 and Kinder 5 and First grade have a developmentally appropriate curriculum which is aligned with the school continuum. The teachers use integrated thematic units and work on projects in the Atelier. We mix purposeful play, circle time and students interact in whole group or small situations both in teacher-directed and child centered learning centers.
In meeting the goals of our mission, the Preprimary program provides a bilingual education in Spanish and English. Spanish is respected as the child’s first language and the development of good literacy skills in Spanish is considered important to the student’s successful acquisition of the second language.
Teaching and learning practices encouraging the growth of autonomy, respect and social skills are utilized in the classroom. Our stable and caring staff members are committed to creating a safe school environment in which each student’s intellectual, social, emotional, physical and creative potentials are respected.
