Accessing the Campus

Students arriving at school by private transportation either through the gatehouse or in automobiles through the roundabout will not be allowed to enter the campus before 06:50 a.m.

  • Drivers and staff will assist children with their bags and belongings, – these should not be in the trunk -. Students’ hands will be disinfected after they leave the traffic roundabout area.
  • Please leave your pets at home.

Car-pooling will be permitted. Families who do so are requested to maintain appropriate physical distance, biosafety practices and behavior. We also ask that you follow these recommendations:

  • All passengers must properly wear the face mask during the ride.
  • Windows should be open (as much as possible), to allow ventilation inside the vehicle.
  • Wash your hands or apply glycerin alcohol before getting into the vehicle.
  • Avoid the use of air conditioning; natural air circulation is preferable.
  • Avoid talking or eating during the ride.
  • Avoid the use of electronic devices (cell phones) inside the vehicle.
  • If you need to cough or sneeze, cover your nose and mouth with your forearm. Then apply glycerin alcohol and wash your hands with soap and water as soon as you can.
  • Avoid touching your face. Your hands may have become contaminated with the vehicle surfaces.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water upon arrival at your destination for a minimum of 20 to 30 seconds.
  • Clean the vehicle between trips with common cleaning products; make sure to clean the door handles and other areas that people can touch.
  • Keep a “Contact Diary” where you can record the persons with whom you have shared a vehicle and the dates, which will allow you to build an epidemiological fence in case of a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19.
  • Comply with biosafety protocols when arriving at school and at home.

Only students will be allowed on campus. Hands will be sanitized upon entry. Parents or other caregivers will not be allowed entry through the gate.

Parents should minimize the number of belongings that students bring to school, emphasizing that only absolutely necessary materials should be packed.

Employees (Teachers and TOM staff) with children entering the school must follow the same procedures outlined above. All Teachers are required to be on campus by 6:45 a.m. Children must remain with their parents inside the classroom or office, following biosafety protocols, until 7:00 a.m., at which time they must go to the appropriate classroom.

Teachers arriving after 7:00 a.m. should drop off their children at the gate or roundabout following the procedures below.

There will be five entry points available: 1) Main Gate (Portería Principal), 2) Roundabout (Rotonda), 3) Mango Tree (Palo de Mango), 4) Lemongrass (Limoncillo)and 5) El Nido (The Nest). All access points will have the same procedures, including access point No. 3 (Palo de Mango). (See specific responsibilities at the entry points).

Each access point will have antibacterial gel for hand sanitization.

Parents or chaperones who leave students at the gate will not be allowed to enter the school. Likewise, private vehicles will not be allowed to park.

Disinfection will take place after students have entered through the gate or from a vehicle, in front of the Library.

Children arriving at school on the buses will be re-sanitized after arrival and directed to their classrooms (Pre-Primary and Primary) or their first period class (Secondary), through the back of the Library.

School personnel will be located at strategic points, monitor students entering each access point and direct them to their classrooms (Pre-Primary and Primary) or their first period class (Secondary). They will also supervise physical distancing and other mandatory health and safety precautions during the arrival process.

Limoncillo access point will only be available until 06:30 a.m.

El Nido access point will only be available after 07:30 a.m.

At 12:30 noon the door will be opened to pick up K4 students and at 14:35 hrs access will be given for the pick up of the rest of the students, both in the main gate and in Limoncillo.

An administrative staff member will be present at all times.

Leaving Campus

Extracurricular activities will be offered as the development of the pandemic allows, with which departure times will be modified, you will receive a communication with the orientations in due course.

Faculty and staff will be stationed throughout the campus and will monitor students exiting at each access point, to buses or to the green area in front of the roundabout for those students waiting for private transportation.

Faculty and staff will supervise physical distancing and other mandatory health and safety precautionary measures during the dismissal process. All teachers must escort students from their classes to the exit points.

Staff will remain with students at all times until they board the buses, or are picked up by their parents.

Principals shall inform parents in a timely manner of the various strategies for the control and orderly dismissal of students from the campus.

Once students have left, all classrooms and buses must be disinfected again, as well as all items used that day, such as: computers, cellphones, headphones, keyboards, mouse, so that they do not become a source of infection.
