Food Service

Food Service

Cafeteria service will be offered to the entire school community, with a staggered attention by sections to ensure compliance with biosafety protocols, especially physical distancing. The required modifications will be made to expand the cafeteria’s installed capacity, including the installation of protective screens and the creation of a new space.

Instructions for the service provider

1

The cafeteria service must comply with current health regulations, in particular Resolution 2674 of 2013 and implement the biosafety protocol established in the technical annex of Resolution 777 of June 2, 2021.

2

All personnel handling food must use protective elements, especially  face masks and others that are imperative during the processing, assembly, loading, transport and delivery of food.

3

Increase the frequency of hand washing and extreme supervision of this activity, as well as the adequate use of protective elements and hygienic practices of food handlers.

4

Ensure the protection of food at all times, particularly in processes that require exposure to the environment and during packaging, which should be carried out in the shortest possible time, with clean and disinfected environments and surfaces.

By adhering to the school’s biosafety protocols, the cafeteria staff is involved in the supervision of its compliance by all persons accessing its service.

Specific instructions

Parents should provide a bag/case to protect the student’s face mask while food is being consumed. Each student will bring it to the cafeteria.

Fixed lunch seating will be assigned, singaling the table and station that corresponds to each student (applies to Primary school), grade or section according to the agreed strategy.

Support personnel (teachers and employees) will be available for the control of biosafety measures during lunch.

The payment card will be mandatory for students and employees, avoiding the exchange of cash.

The recharge of the card must be done in advance at times other than the serving hours.

7 snack serving points will be enabled in order to assign one to each school grade, avoiding crowds.

People must sanitize their hands at the disinfection point provided just before taking the tray.

Cutlery will be delivered in individual packages and will be placed on the trays.

The use of the microwave will be allowed by complying with the physical distancing while waiting for the turn of use and performing hand sanitization before contacting the door and control panel.

There will be maintenance personnel at all times for the cleaning and disinfection of the tables that are being vacated.

As a preventive measure, it is recommended that once each person has finished eating lunch, he/she should head over to the areas available for rest, relaxation and recreation.

The entire community is reminded that remaining for more than 15 continuous minutes without a face mask at a distance of less than 2 meters makes us in close contact with a person who is positive for COVID-19, so it is recommended that the consumption of food be done in the shortest possible time.

Each section will define a strategy for storing and protecting lunch boxes and other containers for students who bring food from home.

Before eating:

Perform a 20-second hand wash with soap and water.

Properly remove the face mask, store it in the bag or packaging provided for this purpose.

Conventional or cloth face masks should be changed if they get wet or dirty.  Maximum use is 1 day. When cloth face masks are removed at home, they should be washed immediately with soap and water. Given the age range, it is considered that an adult should supervise if replacing the fase mask is required.
