“Paintings by Enrique Buenaventura” — Art, Memory, and Critical Thought

Date: Throughout the month of May
Location: Martin Felton Library

Throughout May, the Martin Felton Library will host the exhibition “Paintings by Enrique Buenaventura,” showcasing the critical and sensitive vision of one of Cali’s most renowned playwrights and artists. Through his paintings and drawings, Enrique Buenaventura invites us to reflect on the silenced memory of ancestral cultures and the role of art in confronting social realities.

More than just an art exhibition, this experience offers students the chance to develop essential skills: critical thinking, cultural interpretation, creative expression, and historical awareness. Engaging with art fosters the ability to connect the past with the present, strengthens empathy, and enriches understanding of cultural and social identity.

We invite you to experience this exhibition, to discover art as a medium for thought and transformation, and to honor a creator who continues to inspire generations.
