Sixth-grade students had an unforgettable experience on their trip to Boyacá, where history, culture, and nature came together to enrich their learning.

This journey allowed them to deepen their knowledge of Colombia’s history and explore this particular region, known for its beautiful natural landscapes and the authenticity of its people. Through each activity, they connected classroom learning with the richness of their surroundings, making this trip a meaningful experience and strengthening their sense of identity and belonging to Colombia.

One of the highlights of the trip was the visit to Ráquira, a town famous for its ceramic craftsmanship. There, the students not only learned about this tradition but also got hands-on experience by creating their own pieces, gaining firsthand insight into the work of local artisans.

History also came to life when they visited the iconic Puente de Boyacá, the site where Colombia’s independence was sealed. With great curiosity, they asked questions about Simón Bolívar and the countries he helped liberate, deepening their understanding of this pivotal event in Latin American history.

The trip was also filled with adventure. The group explored a cave and took part in several hiking excursions, marveling at Boyacá’s natural and cultural richness. Every step was an opportunity to learn about the region’s biodiversity and geography.

Beyond academic learning, this trip created invaluable memories for each student. They shared laughter, experiences, and moments of camaraderie that strengthened their bonds. Undoubtedly, this was an educational adventure they will hardly forget—one that will inspire them to continue exploring and learning more about Colombia.
