It is a pleasure to welcome you as a new member to the staff of Colegio Bolivar. We are happy that you have decided to become an active participant in the exciting enterprise of teaching children in our school.

This website has been prepared to assist you in your orientation to our school and to give you an overall view of our school and community. We hope that you will find it a helpful and informative guide. As a new teacher at Colegio Bolívar and in Colombia, you will be involved with many new and exciting situations. Although we have anticipated some of your questions, we are aware that some answers will not be found here. However, the staff and administration will be glad to help you in every way possible to make your work here pleasant and productive.

A structure is in place to provide support throughout your stay at Colegio Bolivar. Even before you arrive, an assigned mentor should contact you and start building a relationship so you feel comfortable asking all the questions you can possibly have.  Besides, instructional coaches provide specific help to new teachers starting during orientation week and on a need basis. Do not hesitate to ask for more contact time if deemed necessary. In addition, colleagues in your grade level or department will be more than willing to give you a hand as well and will work cooperatively with you as a PLC team. And, of course, the administrators will be there to help, too.
