The Colegio Bolivar Sustainability leader, Jessica Gomez, a long-time friend and supporter of the Bolivar Garden approached me at the start of the year asking if the Agricultural Plant Science class and Bolivar Garden would represent the school at the COP 16 international conference on biodiversity held in Cali during the outreach presentations to the public.

Dana starting her presentation about Don Simón and how this leads to greater biodiversity in our garden.

The general public learning about what we do in the garden and agricultural science class.

Students and I jumped at the chance to show our fellow Caleños and other people the work that we do and how it increases biodiversity. A presentation was made and on a very very very wet Monday myself and three students, Dana Alexandra, Federico Doering and Martina Alban presented and spoke to the general public about our work in the Bolivar Garden, about Don Simón Coffee and about how a vocational method of teaching helps our students experience a wide range of learning opportunities.

The general public enjoying a presentation about the garden and what we do there.
