This September an international symposium is being held at University del Valle, sede Melendez from September. Students were asked if they would like to go and present work that they have been doing in the garden. All agreed that this would be a good idea. For the past four weeks since the start of the term students have been working in two groups to produce posters for the international conference.
The first day of the conference saw our students attend conference lectures and interact with scientists and students from the region. I presented to the conference on the 7th September “Strategies and benefits of teaching agricultural plant science (APS) and agroforestry concepts at the secondary level for students and the community ”.
On the 8th September our students presented their posters to the scientific community and were asked many questions by professors from the region.
