After completing the build of the greenhouse together with attachment of the netting, the movement of the beds and the painting of the beds in Rainbow colours, we had to get enough soil and organic matter into the beds and let it rot down in order to be able to plant anything in the beds and start producing vegetables.

To this end a kind donation of waste organic material was obtained from our school dean´s mushroom farm. The school sent the school camioneta to the farm and brought back a mountain of organic material which has been dug into the beds with the soil that was remaining from the original site of the greenhouse.

Getting compost ready from our heap for the beds

Volunteers to the Bolivar Garden Saturday spent a good morning mixing this material into the soil and placing it in the beds. This will now be left to rot down for sometime before we start planting vegetables.

Time to move onto the inventory project.
