After the Christmas holidays we came back to an overgrown hillside, and weeds and bamboo shoots growing, in our partially constructed terrace. Weeds were weeded and the bamboo shoots were dug out and replanted at the side of the garden, by Juana, Isabella, Catalina, Laura and Gabriel.

They are looking “a bit dead and withered” as I write, but, with watering and rains they will come back to life and provide us with a natural fence in the years to come.
