Data has been collected by students during many sessions of the class. It has been pleasing to see how students have taken to this task, taking responsibility to complete it and ensure the map is up to date with accurate and correct data.

First results indicate that we have over 100 different types of tree species, including 21 number of palms.  There are at least 945 individual trees and palms on the campus.

Lessons that students learnt: it is very hard to put nails into palm trees; Sharpie marker pens do not last on plastic; we have to work out another way to mark trees; this is hard work and takes a lot longer than anticipated – students were working on this project for over four months.
