During Agriculture class we were pleased to host a visit by Dr Julian Mateus of Agrosavia and Javier Gutierez from Hidroequipos, to have an open discussion about our proposal. They looked at the plot, answered questions regarding our plans and gave advice on whether to select one cultivar or multiple clones.

Students were actively engaged in the discussions. Later, we took the scientists to look at our existing cacao trees planted in 2020 during the 5k Verde Race.
They looked at the quality of our soil from a pit dug to demonstrate this. They gave advice on how to conduct a soil sample correctly for a soil laboratory to conduct a soil analysis.

The benefit of the visit was that our students got to interact with agricultural scientists, asking questions that we are actually facing and trying to come up with solutions. Important skills in communication and life skills in approaching experts and getting them to share their valuable knowledge.

Thank you to our visitors for an excellent day had with our students.
