One of the main garden projects has been the construction of an earthen stairway. In order to get from the bottom of the garden to the water tanks, compost areas and higher beds a staircase has been started by a group of students including Juana, Valentina, Carolina, Laura, Juan David and Gabriel!

They were firstly instructed how to cut steps in to the ground by two of our maintenance staff and then set about cutting out the steps, removing the soil and ensuring that the steps will be strong enough to withstand constant footfall.
The steps will be one meter wide, 15 cm deep and will be supported by planks of recycled wood hammered into the ground.
