Discurso Consejera Pre Universitaria
Como consejera preuniversitaria, me produce una enorme satisfacción y un verdadero honor compartir con ustedes el recorrido y los resultados de las aplicaciones universitarias de la Clase de 2026.
Al reflexionar sobre este proceso, no puedo evitar verlo como una gran obra de teatro en varios actos: una historia que comenzó en Preprimary, continuó en Primary y Middle School y que hoy llega al final de su primer gran capítulo en High School.
Quiero comenzar agradeciendo a los padres de familia por su apoyo incondicional y reconocer la guía, el compromiso y el trabajo conjunto de profesores, directivos y colaboradores, quienes hicieron posible la formación de estos jóvenes extraordinarios.
Los protagonistas de esta historia son 98 seniors. De ellos, 70 (71%) exploraron la posibilidad de estudiar fuera de Colombia; 60 completaron el proceso de aplicaciones internacionales y, hasta la fecha, 37 (38%) iniciarán sus estudios en Canadá, México, Panamá, Japón, Inglaterra, España, Italia y Estados Unidos. Además, 10 estudiantes tomarán un año o semestre sabático para vivir experiencias en Israel, Francia, Reino Unido, Portugal y Colombia.
Este proceso dio como resultado 153 cartas de admisión, de las cuales 106 provinieron de universidades clasificadas como Most Competitive y Highly Competitive.
Más de la mitad de la promoción presentó el examen SAT, obteniendo resultados sobresalientes, con varios estudiantes alcanzando puntajes superiores a 1400. Asimismo, por primera vez, casi el 100% de la clase cursó al menos una asignatura AP (Advanced Placement), demostrando un notable rigor académico, y la mayoría presentó exitosamente sus exámenes internacionales.
Treinta estudiantes recibieron ofertas de becas que, en conjunto, superan los cinco millones de dólares —aproximadamente 18 mil millones de pesos— para financiar sus estudios universitarios: el monto más alto en la historia del Colegio. ¡Felicitaciones!
En Colombia, el éxito también fue extraordinario: el 100% de los estudiantes fue admitido en la universidad de su primera elección. La mitad de la promoción estudiará en ICESI, Javeriana Cali, Javeriana Bogotá, Los Andes, CESA, Externado, Rosario y la Escuela de Aviación Aeroccidente. Además, seguimos a la espera de los resultados de 18 becas de excelencia de ICESI y Javeriana Cali, que se sumarán a la ya otorgada por la Universidad Externado.
Las carreras elegidas reflejan la diversidad de talentos de esta generación: Administración de Empresas, Economía, Medicina, Psicología, Ingenierías y Diseño, junto con áreas como Aviación, Gastronomía, Odontología, Ilustración, Derecho, Microbiología, Comunicaciones y Física.
Querida Clase de 2026:
Como su consejera universitaria, tuve el privilegio de ocupar un lugar en primera fila durante toda esta obra. He celebrado las cartas de admisión, las becas, los campeonatos, las presentaciones y tantos otros logros. Pero también he visto algo que casi nadie alcanza a ver: los ensayos.
He visto las noches largas, los ensayos reescritos una y otra vez, las horas extra de entrenamiento, las decepciones después de un examen y esos momentos en los que se preguntaban si todo el esfuerzo realmente valía la pena.
Esos momentos rara vez reciben aplausos. Sin embargo, es allí donde se forja el carácter.
Vivimos en un mundo que celebra las presentaciones, pero el verdadero crecimiento ocurre durante los ensayos.
High School has been your rehearsal—a rehearsal for something bigger.
Cada salón de clase, laboratorio, escenario, cancha, debate de MUN, estudio de arte, proyecto en Bolívar Garden y experiencia de servicio social fue parte de esa preparación. Allí aprendieron, se equivocaron, volvieron a intentarlo y, sobre todo, se convirtieron en las personas que son hoy.
Por eso, hoy celebramos mucho más que sus resultados. Celebramos en quiénes se han convertido.
Vayan donde vayan, recuerden que no están definidos por una carta de admisión, una universidad o un ranking. Están definidos por la persona en la que se convierten mientras persiguen sus metas; por la disciplina que desarrollan, las amistades que construyen, los obstáculos que superan y los valores que deciden vivir cada día.
Esos son sus verdaderos logros. Y esos los acompañarán mucho después de hoy.
Así que, mientras dejan este escenario para comenzar el próximo acto de sus vidas, lleven con ustedes la disciplina, la resiliencia, la valentía, la bondad y las amistades que construyeron aquí.
Porque esas son las cosas que perduran.
Esta no es su última actuación.
Es simplemente el momento en que se levanta el telón para el próximo acto.

As College Counselor, it is both a tremendous privilege and a true honor to share with you the college application journey and outcomes of the Class of 2026.
As I reflect on this process, I can’t help but see it as a grand theatrical production unfolding over several acts—a story that began in Preprimary, continued through Primary and Middle School, and today reaches the conclusion of its first great chapter: High School.
I would like to begin by thanking our parents for their unwavering support and by recognizing the dedication, guidance, and collaborative efforts of our faculty, administrators, and staff, who have helped shape these extraordinary young men and women.
The stars of this story are our 98 seniors.
Of them, 70 students (71%) explored opportunities to study abroad. Sixty completed the international college application process, and, to date, 37 students (38%) will begin their university studies in Canada, Mexico, Panama, Japan, England, Spain, Italy, and the United States. In addition, 10 students have chosen to take a gap year or gap semester, pursuing meaningful experiences in Israel, France, the United Kingdom, Portugal, and Colombia.
Together, they received 153 offers of admission, including 106 from universities classified as Most Competitive and Highly Competitive.
More than half of the class sat for the SAT, achieving outstanding results, with several students earning scores above 1400. Furthermore, for the first time in our school’s history, nearly 100% of the graduating class completed at least one Advanced Placement (AP) course, demonstrating exceptional academic rigor, and the vast majority successfully completed their international AP examinations.
Thirty students were awarded merit scholarships totaling more than five million U.S. dollars—approximately 18 billion Colombian pesos—to support their university education, the highest scholarship total in Colegio Bolívar’s history. Congratulations!
Here in Colombia, the results have been equally remarkable. Every student who applied was admitted to their first-choice university. Half of the graduating class will attend Universidad ICESI, Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Cali, Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Bogotá, Universidad de los Andes, CESA, Universidad Externado de Colombia, Universidad del Rosario, and Aeroccidente Aviation School. We also continue to await the results of 18 Excellence Scholarships from ICESI and Javeriana Cali, which will add to the scholarship already awarded by Universidad Externado de Colombia.
The academic paths our students have chosen reflect the remarkable diversity of talent within this class. They will pursue degrees in Business Administration, Economics, Medicine, Psychology, Engineering, and Design, as well as Aviation, Culinary Arts, Dentistry, Illustration, Law, Microbiology, Communications, and Physics.
Dear Class of 2026,
As your College Counselor, I have had the privilege of sitting in the front row throughout this entire production.
I have celebrated your acceptance letters, your scholarships, your championships, your performances, and so many other accomplishments.
But I have also witnessed something that few others ever get to see:
The rehearsals.
I have seen the late nights, the essays rewritten over and over again, the extra hours of practice, the disappointment after difficult exams, and the moments when you questioned whether all the effort was truly worth it.
Those moments rarely receive applause.
Yet they are where character is built.
We live in a world that celebrates performances, but true growth happens during the rehearsals.
High School has been your rehearsal—for something much greater.
Every classroom, laboratory, stage, athletic field, Model United Nations debate, art studio, Bolívar Garden project, and service-learning experience has been part of that preparation. It was there that you learned, stumbled, tried again, and, most importantly, became the people you are today.
That is why today we celebrate far more than your college decisions or academic achievements.
We celebrate who you have become.
Wherever life takes you, remember that you are not defined by an acceptance letter, a university, or a ranking.
You are defined by the person you become while pursuing your dreams; by the discipline you cultivate, the friendships you build, the obstacles you overcome, and the values you choose to live by every single day.
Those are your greatest accomplishments.
And those are the ones that will stay with you long after today.
So, as you leave this stage and step into the next act of your lives, carry with you the discipline, resilience, courage, kindness, and friendships you found here.
Because those are the things that endure.
This is not your final performance.
It is simply the moment when the curtain rises on your next act.

We cannot wait to see all that you will accomplish when the curtain rises once again.
