Discurso de Agradecimiento
Hoy celebramos uno de los logros más importantes de nuestras vidas. Esta ceremonia marca el cierre de una de las etapas más significativas que hemos vivido y el comienzo de una historia que aún está por escribirse. Y aunque sentimos una inmensa alegría, es imposible no sentir también un poco de nostalgia.
Esperamos este día durante años. Lo imaginamos en cada examen difícil, en cada clase eterna y en cada momento en que solo queríamos que llegara la graduación. Pero ahora que finalmente está aquí, creo que muchos daríamos cualquier cosa por detener el tiempo un instante más.
Porque hoy no solo nos despedimos de un colegio. Nos despedimos de un hogar.
El Bolívar nos vio crecer, nos dio herramientas para enfrentar el mundo y nos enseñó a creer en nosotros mismos. Por eso, antes de irnos, queremos hacer algo muy sencillo: dar las gracias.
Nuestra historia comenzó con una maleta más grande que nosotros y con el miedo de soltar la mano de nuestros papás el primer día de clases. Muy pronto ese miedo se transformó en amistades, juegos, presentaciones, recreos y una familia que iba mucho más allá de los lazos de sangre.
En Primaria aprendimos que el colegio también podía ser un lugar para reír, equivocarnos y descubrir lo que nos apasionaba. Nos sentíamos dueños del campus y cada recuerdo fue construyendo la historia que hoy compartimos.
Después llegó Middle School y, justo cuando empezábamos a sentirnos grandes, el mundo se detuvo. La pandemia nos obligó a valorar cosas que antes parecían normales: compartir un salón, caminar por los corredores, reírnos con nuestros amigos o simplemente estar juntos. Aprendimos que pertenecer a una comunidad es un privilegio.
Y casi sin darnos cuenta llegó High School. Empezamos a pensar en el futuro, en los AP, el SAT y las universidades. Vivimos viajes, despedimos a profesores que marcaron nuestras vidas y también vimos partir a personas que dejaron una huella profunda en el Colegio. En Salento entendimos que el final estaba mucho más cerca de lo que imaginábamos.
Hoy, después de 14 años, nos damos cuenta de que el Colegio nos enseñó muchísimas cosas… excepto cómo decir adiós.
Nos sentimos profundamente orgullosos de cada persona que está aquí. Cada uno de ustedes deja esta institución con una historia diferente, pero todos nos llevamos algo de quienes compartieron este camino con nosotros: una lección, una amistad, una conversación o un recuerdo que nos acompañará siempre.
Sabemos que muchos sentimos incertidumbre por lo que viene. Y está bien. Pero si hay algo que estos años nos demostraron, es que somos capaces de superar cualquier desafío que la vida nos ponga enfrente.
Por eso queremos agradecer. Gracias a nuestros profesores por enseñarnos mucho más que contenidos. Gracias a nuestros padres por acompañarnos en cada paso. Gracias a todos los colaboradores del Colegio por hacer de este lugar un segundo hogar.
Y, sobre todo, gracias a ustedes, compañeros. Gracias por las risas, por el apoyo, por las conversaciones, por las historias y por convertirse en esa familia que elegimos sin darnos cuenta.
Tal vez la vida nos lleve por caminos distintos y no volvamos a compartir el día a día. Pero sabemos que la Familia Bolívar siempre será un lugar al que podremos regresar.
Ha sido un verdadero honor crecer junto a ustedes. Muchas gracias.

Today, we celebrate one of the most important milestones of our lives. This ceremony marks the end of one of the most meaningful chapters we have ever experienced and the beginning of a story that is still waiting to be written. We have looked forward to this day for years. We imagined it through every difficult exam, every endless class, and every moment when we simply wished graduation would arrive. But now that it is finally here, I think many of us would give anything to pause time for just a little longer.
Because today, we are not only saying goodbye to a school.
We are saying goodbye to a home.
Colegio Bolívar watched us grow, equipped us with the tools to face the world, and taught us to believe in ourselves. Before we leave, there is one simple thing we want to do:
Say thank you.
Our journey began with backpacks that seemed bigger than we were and the fear of letting go of our parents’ hands on that very first day of school. Before long, that fear gave way to friendships, games, performances, recess, and a family that extended far beyond blood ties.
In Elementary School, we discovered that school could also be a place to laugh, make mistakes, and find what truly inspired us. We felt like we owned the campus, and every memory became another chapter in the story we share today.
Then came Middle School. Just as we were beginning to feel grown up, the world came to a standstill. The pandemic taught us to appreciate things we had once taken for granted: sharing a classroom, walking through the hallways, laughing with our friends, or simply being together. We learned that belonging to a community is a privilege.
And almost without realizing it, High School arrived. We began thinking about the future—AP courses, the SAT, college applications, and the dreams that awaited us beyond these walls. We experienced unforgettable trips, said goodbye to teachers who profoundly shaped our lives, and mourned members of our community whose impact will never be forgotten. It was during our trip to Salento that many of us truly realized how close the end had become.
Today, after fourteen years, we have come to understand that Colegio Bolívar taught us so many things…
…except how to say goodbye.
We are incredibly proud of every person sitting here today. Each of you leaves this school with a different story, yet all of us carry something from those who walked this journey beside us—a lesson, a friendship, a conversation, or a memory that will stay with us forever.
We know that many of us feel uncertain about what lies ahead.
And that’s okay.
Because if these past fourteen years have taught us anything, it is that we are capable of overcoming whatever challenges life places before us.
So today, we simply want to say thank you.
Thank you to our teachers for teaching us lessons that went far beyond the classroom.
Thank you to our parents for standing beside us every step of the way.
Thank you to every member of the Colegio Bolívar staff for making this place feel like a second home.
And most of all, thank you to our classmates.
Thank you for the laughter, the encouragement, the conversations, the memories, and for becoming the family we never realized we were choosing.
Life may take us in different directions, and we may no longer share our everyday lives.
But we know that the Bolívar Family will always be a place we can come home to.
It has been a true privilege to grow up alongside all of you.
