The library has some 30,000 books, magazine subscriptions, 200 DVD videos and electronic resources available through the library network. All library materials, including reference databases and preselected internet sites, are searchable through our online public access catalog on the Library Home Page (Go to Library from the home page of Colegio Bolivar). There are 18 student workstations, which access multimedia encyclopedias, magazine indexes, the Internet, and other electronic sources. Finally, the library has twenty Kindles to loan to teachers, offering the most recent books in electronic format, along with electronic books through Follett Shelf and Tumblebooks for all grade levels. Specific questions regarding library services may be directed to the Head of Information Services, Thomas Rompf.

The library, built in 1991, serves both teachers and students. The building is frequently used by teachers, so make sure you sign up to use it with your class well in advance of the date you will need it. The library houses a primary library, a reference room, reading rooms, private conference areas, and lecture space in a one-hundred seat auditorium. The library auditorium has a built-in video projector and surround-sound system for audiovisual viewing. Video projectors are also fixed in the Reference Room and Large Conference Room. Make reservations for library spaces through the Intranet or at the circulation desk sign-up sheets.

Besides promoting reading and research, the library also hosts storytellers, art exhibits, and displays of class projects throughout the year. As well, there is room for displays in the Secondary Library, which may be reserved at the front desk.
Both the secondary and primary librarians are available as resources for your classes for mini-lessons, collaboration or other projects. For more information on the library, including policies and subject-area link, please consult our web page.
