 A) Something that a lot of schools in the U.S. do are superlatives: things like “most likely to become president” “nicest car” “class clown,” yada yada yada. Danielle, what superlative did you get in high school?

D) I was voted “most likely to be out of dress code.” How about you?

A) “Meanest”

D) Well, I think we’ve both changed a lot since high school. (If you think I dress terribly or that Arnie’s really mean, please don’t tell us) That shows that who people are in high school or how they are perceived doesn’t always stick. But nevertheless, we give you the superlatives of the class of 2023:

Our new Bolivar mission statement emphasizes the crucial role creativity plays in the learning process and indeed in life. The following students were the most likely to inspire their teachers with their creativity.

●        Isabela Figueredo

●        Arantza Arizpe (give them a chance to do something artsy and they’ll hit it out of the park)

●        Alyne Corkidi

●        Alejandra Camacho

Once you all made the move from H block to I block when you became seniors, I felt like I hardly saw most of you. However, a few friendly faces always passed by my classroom and made a point to check in and say hello. For that reason,

●        Federico Mora

●        Vicente Duque and

●        Lucas Arroyave

●        Carlos Jiménez

Are the most likely to brighten your day.

These students are most likely to start a Fortune 500 company that can make them rich while giving back to the community.

●        Felipe García

●        Juan José Arellano

●        María Antonia Fajardo

●        Martín Mejía

●        Juan Martin Cabal

●        Alejandro Rojas

When I met you as a class, we were 100% on Zoom. So you can imagine that many of my first impressions of you were unique… these next students win the award of having the funniest zoom etiquette:

●        It didn’t seem to matter what time of day it was, Jeronimo Garcia always signed onto a class in a dark room, with a hood on, and the glow of the computer screen dimly illuminating his profile. It was like watching the transformation of Anikan Skywalker to Darth Vader in real-time

●        Alberto Cañón (video on)

●        Camilo Raga (golf course…maybe loop in with Caicedo?)

●        Joaquín Caicedo (backgrounds)

This next group took up part-time residence in my classroom last year during break times. I think they were doing TikTok dances, but they were always jumping, falling, rolling, and laughing so hard I’m not sure they ever got a finished video. So the students most likely to get injured in the making of a tik-tok video are:

●        Sofía Arango

●        Mariana Montalvo

●        Karime Assis

●        María Alejandra García

●        Mariana Echeverri

The most likely to have killed Arnie Barnie

●        Juan Camilo Hurtado

●        Sebastián Medina

●        Nicolás Gómez

●        Gianluca Figueroa

●        Nicolas Isaacs

●        Esteban Salcedo

●        Joaquin Salem

●        Natalia Hoyos

●        Mariajosé García

●        María Paula Zafra and

●        Mariana Agudelo

are all students who had the courage and adventurous attitude to leave the familiar comforts of Colegio Bolivar and do an exchange semester. Therefore, they are the students most likely to dramatically quit their jobs, pack a bag, and travel the world as a digital nomad.

Most likely to talk a police officer out of giving them a fine. It might go something like this:

Siren Wails

Police officer: Do you know why you’ve been pulled over?

Driver: Do you know why I’ve been pulled over?

Police officer: You were speeding and you ran a red light?

Driver: Define red.

Police Officer: It’s a color and…

Driver: Color? But what are you getting at?

Police Officer: Er, nothing. Have a nice day.

●        Daniel De Lima

●        José Vallderuten

●        Sebastián Quintero

●        Alejandro Correa

●        Xiomara Covarrubias

Most respectful (Bolivar values)

●        Antonio Mejía

●        Andrea Arias

●        Daniela García Sosa

●        Martín Cortés’ (My C block group…poem)

●        Sara Camacho

Hey, Joe, I mean Dr. Nagy, can we get these seniors all 7 pins?

In the hustle and bustle of everything on a high schooler’s to-do list – homework, sports, SAT, college applications – This next group of students was able to zoom out and see the big picture. They all contributed to the community in a meaningful way and exemplified the Bolivar value of social commitment. Max Tanner & Nicolas Arango for their work starting the STEM club

●        Tomás Jaramillo for all his dedication to the Bolivar Garden and Don Simon Coffee

●        María Alejandra Castañeda & Sofía Besalel for the app they created to support parents

●        Martín Rojas for his work with NHS and 1,000 other things

For all the meaningful projects you created and dedicated yourselves to, you are the most likely to start a world-changing non-profit organization.

These students offered us wonderful moments of joy as student-athletes and are thus the most likely to have us standing in line for an autograph.

●        Felipe Cabal

●        Juan Gabriel Borrero

●        María Antonia Cardona

●        Samuel Henao

●        Samuel Pacheco

●        Samuel Borrero

●        María Del Mar Lozano

●        Gabriela Betancur

During their time here at Colegio Bolivar,

●        Sofía Barrios

●        Ana Sofía Clavijo

●        Camila Gómez and

●        Anabella Losada

Went against the status quo and created the school’s first Gender-Sexuality Alliance. Introducing a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community here at Colegio Bolivar took ambition, courage, and perseverance. For this, they are the students deemed the most inspiring.

Best negotiators (MUN)

●        Nicolás Ossma

●        Martín Rojas

●        Natan Kadoch

In my classes, we had many discussions regarding controversial topics. In these conversations, things sometimes got heated and tense, and when that happened, there were a few students who impressed me over and over again with their ability to remain calm, collected, and rational. They made people feel heard while also tactfully expressing themselves. Their ability to remain true to themselves exemplifies the Bolivar value of integrity, which is represented by a whale.

On our website, it says the whale is “an indispensable animal, which silently helps maintain the balance of our planetary ecosystem.”In light of their unwavering integrity, this group is the most likely to have been a whale in a past life.

●        Isabela Mejía

●        Laura Bustamante

●        Sofía Ramírez

This list of seniors is the most likely to be our therapist in the not-too-distant future.

Psychology

●        Luisa Buitrago (Pam)

●        Sofía Villalobos

●        Isabela Hurtado

●        Ana Sofía Chala

●        Juliana Velasco

●        Dana Lukauskis

●        María Camila Vargas

●        Sofía Besalel

In a 10th-grade advisory after returning from Christmas vacation, I asked students to tell two truths and 1 lie about what they did over the break. In her list, Dani Gonzalez listed “I went swimming in the pool” as one of her options. That seemed probable to me, so I guessed that. Everyone immediately started laughing and said she was like a cat, she hated the pool. So the least likely to be found swimming in the pool is

●        Daniela González

The great thing about these big changes is that you don’t have to be who you were for the last 12 years. You have this opportunity now to become nicer or start to dress better, for example. We are always developing, which doesn’t stop after high school or college. We’re in this constant state of improvement and refining – emphasizing our good qualities and working on our not-so-great ones. Wherever you go and whoever you become, we hope that you stay true to your Bolivar values and enjoy the ride.

Thank you Seniors 2023 for the great memories!”
