“It’s time for us to take the next step, follow our sparks, and do what moves us and gives our lives meaning”
“We are gathered today to commemorate the final step in our school journey. Fourteen years have passed since we first met this place, which we would soon call home. Back then, the school seemed vast and full of strangers, with older students who seemed so much wiser. We once thought, “one day, we’ll be just like them.”
Throughout these years, we have walked a long path, filling our backpacks with memories, tools, and knowledge. This journey at Colegio Bolívar has allowed us to explore who we are, connect with each other, and appreciate our unique contributions. The Class of 2024 embodies a true sense of togetherness. Each person on this stage has a unique place and has contributed something special. We are gifted with talent, passion, creativity, and, most importantly, true humanity. I feel privileged to be part of this group, and I am convinced that our bond can transcend the barriers of time and distance.
I remember when 2024 seemed distant. A few years ago, we thought we would have our lives figured out by now and be ready to take on the world as independent adults. However, we now know that’s far from reality. Today, with robes that feel too large and hats too tight, our minds are filled with questions, doubts, and insecurities. We still have much to learn, but we are doing the best we can.
As a new part of our journey begins, it’s important to keep those backpacks filled with memories and knowledge to help us navigate the unknown. Soon, we will each be on our own path, meeting new faces and finding new places to call home.
Today, nostalgia reminds us to be grateful. It tells us that life is a series of meaningful moments brought forth by bold decisions. It’s time for us to take the next step, follow our sparks, and do what moves us and gives our lives meaning.
We are stepping into the world during a difficult time, but we are well-equipped and more capable than we imagine. May we move forward, always appreciating and learning from our past. May we never lose touch with who we are, where we come from, and where we wish to go. Let’s embrace this new chapter with open arms, curious minds, and brave but compassionate hearts.”
