Throughout the year, the school carries out meaningful encounters focused on integration and service, in which students play a leading role in the organization and development of recreational, artistic, and community-building activities. These experiences, carried out in partnership with the Institute for Blind and Deaf Children, the Jason Aristizábal Foundation, and the El Cottolengo Foundation, strengthened values such as empathy, solidarity, and respect, fostering shared learning experiences that left a lasting impact on all participants.
September
On Saturday, September 27, an integration day was held with the kids of El Instituto para Niños Ciegos y Sordos, characterized by joy, inclusion, and contact with nature. The activities, organized and accompanied by the school’s students, included a walk to the waterfall, outdoor games, and a shared snack. To close the experience, the children made bracelets with the support of the students, as a symbol of unity, empathy, and shared learning.
October
The school welcomed 20 children and adolescents from the Fundación Jason Aristizábal for a day filled with creativity and a festive spirit as part of the Halloween celebration. The activities, led by Middle School students, included an obstacle course, artistic projects, sports games, and the creation of bracelets. The day concluded with the delivery of a small gift, highlighting values such as empathy, collaboration, and generosity.
December
The third voluntary Social Service encounter was held with older adults from the Fundación El Cottolengo. During the day, students and older adults shared a morning of togetherness, dialogue, and closeness, strengthening intergenerational bonds in an atmosphere of respect and affection. Participants expressed their gratitude for this space for recreation and companionship, reaffirming the positive impact of the students’ commitment and willingness to serve.
These encounters reaffirm the value of Social Commitment as a formative experience that goes beyond the classroom and strengthens the Sense of Community. Through students’ commitment, willingness, and empathy, spaces for meaningful connection are created that generate a positive impact and leave a lasting impression on both those who receive and those who give their time and heart.
