The reaccreditation process is carried out every five years and the results obtained so far have allowed us to position ourselves in the top 5% of schools worldwide. This reaffirms that we are moving in the right direction and encourages us to continue improving continuously.
Optimizing Educational Quality: The COGNIA Accreditation Process at Colegio Bolivar
Colegio Bolivar received the Cognia Accreditation Engagement Review Team at the end of October 2023. This school accreditation allows to improve educational quality and promote continuous improvement.
Based on a set of rigorous standards backed by research, the accreditation process examines all aspects of the institution: the academic program, the cultural context, and the stakeholder community, with the goal of determining how these parts work together to meet the needs of students.
Trained evaluators analyze the quality of the learning environment to provide feedback and guide improvements in both teaching and learning, as well as the overall operation of the institution.
All Cognia Accreditation teams focus on two main areas: the Institutional Analysis Assessment, which consists of collecting data and information for further analysis and synthesis in order to implement improvement actions; and the Performance Standards Assessment Results, which evaluate the institution’s ability to meet Cognia’s defined expectations.
On this occasion, Cognia’s perspective has evolved towards a more student-centered approach, which is clearly aligned with contemporary trends in education.
The Cognia Team was so impressed with our Community that they created a video showcasing their observations in our school classrooms, along with our song “Be Bolivar.”

Outstanding Achievements: Impact on Colegio Bolivar’s Academic Performance
All Cognia Accreditation teams focus on two main areas:
Institutional Analysis Assessment:
In this category, the school scored above the system average in six of the seven categories assessed, achieving the same score as the system average in one category. This process involves the collection of data and information for subsequent analysis and synthesis, in order to implement improvement actions.
Performance Standards Assessment Results:
In this area, the school exceeded the Cognia Network system average in each of the four sets of standards. This area evaluates the school’s ability to meet the expectations defined by Cognia.
Cognia provides an Education Quality Index (EQI) as a holistic measure of overall performance. Colegio Bolivar earned an IEQ score of 336, compared to the Cognia IEQ network average of 253 for the 2022/23 school year.

COGNIA suggests the development and implementation of systematic processes to ensure the alignment of all programs and services. In addition, it is recommended to formalize a process to systematically integrate data into decision making.

This achievement is the result of the joint effort of all members of the Colegio Bolivar community: the Board of Directors, faculty, staff, students, parents and alumni.
