Presenters FAQ

What do I do if I want to present?

Fill out the Presenter Registration Form. Make sure you write a good description that clearly states what your 60-minute workshop is about and what attendees will get out of it. This 100-word description is what will appear on the program. Choose a title that reflects the content of the workshop so there is no question as to what attendees will hear about.

Your presentation cannot promote a product, service, or organization in which you have a financial interest.

Who can present?

The general purpose of the CB Forum is for teachers to share their experiences with each other. Administrators, counselors, and other professionals in education-related fields are welcome to share their knowledge as well.

How many presenters can there be for each presentation?

There is no limit of presenters per session but, obviously a large number of presenters might be too many.

How long should my session last?

All presentations are scheduled as 60-minute workshops.

I registered as presenter and sent in my proposal. Now what happens?

You will get confirmation of receipt of your proposal within five days. If you do not hear from us, please email or call Dr. David Fayad, Director of Learning, to confirm that we have your proposal dfayad@colegiobolivar.edu.co Tel: 57-602-485-5050, Ext. 221

How many people will attend my session?

Plan for about 20. You may have fewer, or you may have more. We do not use a sign-up system so there is no way to tell how many people will be interested in your topic. Up to now, we have preferred to allow people to go to their first choice rather than limit attendance to each session to evenly distribute attendees.

Do I have to provide my own handouts?

Yes. We are encouraging the use of electronic handouts; however, if you must have paper handouts, please bring your own copies.

What Audiovisual Equipment can I use?

All rooms are equipped with video projectors, whiteboards, markers, and several rooms also have interactive whiteboards. You may request a flipchart. Two auditoriums are available for presentations that require a stage or expect a large audience. They are equipped with microphones, video projectors, multimedia setup, surround sound, etc. Computers and computer labs with internet access are available (see below for more info). Document cameras are also available upon request.

What computer facilities are available for my presentation?

Colegio Bolivar has school-wide Internet access and two computer labs (one with 24 computers, and one with 22). All classrooms are equipped with one or more computers and there are several laptop carts available. For questions relating to your personal set-up needs about software installation, multimedia access, computer hard-disk space availability, and configuration, please contact Dr. David Fayad, Director of Learning dfayad@colegiobolivar.edu.co

May I make changes to my presentation, such as adding or taking away a co-presenter or changing my description?

Yes, you can, if you do so at least two weeks before the Forum.
